What was wrong was the citation - it named the Egyptian National Drug Formulary's cardiovascular volume with no year, no monograph and no section, so it could not be re-found. Caution CONTRAINDICATED where the patient is hypersensitive to atorvastatin or to any of the product's other ingredients; in acute liver failure or decompensated cirrhosis; and in pregnancy or while breast-feeding. The dose is the formulary's own for this indication - 80 mg once daily for secondary prevention of a cardiovascular event, filed under its heading for preventing atherosclerotic cardiovascular disease. The article asks for the same intensity - a high-intensity statin for everyone with chronic coronary syndrome, meaning atorvastatin at 40–80 mg or rosuvastatin at 20–40 mg, with the target a fall in LDL-C of 50% or more.
